FAQFractional Real Estate Basics

Is real estate a good hedge against inflation?

Quick answer

In Egypt, property has long been one of the most trusted ways to protect savings from inflation: it is a real, limited asset whose value and rents have tended to rise with prices over time. Fractional ownership makes that available from the price of one share, with rent paid every quarter on top. It is not guaranteed; values and rents can also fall.

Why property

When the value of cash erodes, a physical asset that people and businesses need tends to hold its value better. Property is real and limited, and over time its prices and rents have tended to move with inflation rather than being eaten by it.

Income as well as value

Unlike assets that only protect value, income-generating property also pays rent. With Amtaar you receive your share of the rent every quarter, while your share of the property can grow in value.

What it does not do

It is not a guarantee: property values and rents can fall, and property is less liquid than cash or gold. Look at each unit’s location, tenant and lease before you invest.
