How Amtaar works

Amtaar lets you own a share of a leased commercial office in Egypt, earn your share of its rent every quarter, and sell when you are ready. Here is the whole journey, one step at a time.

  1. Choose your investment
    Step 1

    Choose your investment

Every investment on Amtaar is a specific, leased commercial office from a known developer. You choose the property yourself, after seeing its photos, size, location, share price and 5-year forecast.

  2. Buy a share
    Step 2

    Buy a share

You buy shares in the Amtaar app. The minimum is one share, priced per property: Park Street East, open now, is EGP 50,000 per share. You pay by bank transfer, InstaPay or your wallet, and your ownership is set out in a signed contract.

  3. Earn rental income
    Step 3

    Earn rental income

Each property is leased to a business tenant. Once a quarter’s rent is collected, Amtaar deducts a 5% management fee and splits the rest between investors by their shares. Your share is paid into your Amtaar Wallet every quarter.

  4. Watch your wealth grow
    Step 4

    Watch your wealth grow

Your investment grows in two ways: the rent it pays you every quarter, and any rise in the property’s value. The Portfolio tab in the app shows both, property by property, and your actual return so far.

  5. Sell and make a profit
    Step 5

    Sell and make a profit

You can sell your shares after the first year, either to a buyer you find yourself (no commission) or through Amtaar on the secondary market at the market price at the time (2.5% commission). Your profit is the rise in value plus the rent you collected while you held them.
